Experience the astonishingly beautiful artistry of classical Indian music and dance in this performance presented by Chhandayan, a New York-based organization dedicated to promoting and preserving Indian music and culture. The event brings together virtuoso tabla player Samir Chatterjee, sarangi (stringed instrument) player Rohan Misra and kathak dancer Ariaki Dandawate. Hailed by the NY Times for his “vivid, exciting performance,” and lauded for his “impeccable mastery of rhythm” (Rhythm magazine), Samir Chatterjee is recognized as one of world’s greatest tabla players. In kathak, you’ll experience the traditional Indian art of storytelling through refined and deeply meaningful movement. Find out more about Chhandayan at www.tabla.org.
